Why we started
It began with a freeze-frame: a staircase in a 1950s romance, a café in a Paris fairy tale, a firehouse in a ghost comedy. Could you still stand there? And did it look the same?
The answers were scattered across fan forums, old production notes and street views that stopped at the wrong corner. So we started pinning them, one scene at a time, with the coordinates, the access rules and the story behind each shot.
Today Where Was The Movie turns passive viewing into active exploration. You watch the film, then you walk it.

How we work
Exact, not approximate
We publish coordinates to five decimal places and tell you which side of the street to stand on.
Honest about access
Every pin says whether it’s a public square, has opening hours, needs a ticket, is a private home or no longer exists.
Respectful of neighbors
Many famous doors are someone’s front door. We ask fans to look, photograph from the pavement and move on.
Kept fresh by fans
Field notes from visitors update our maps faster than any press kit ever could.
