Breakfast at Tiffany’s opens on an empty Fifth Avenue at sunrise. Holly steps out of a cab in a black gown and eats a pastry and coffee while gazing into the windows.
The scene was shot early in the morning to keep the avenue clear, and Hepburn reportedly didn’t care for pastries.

The flagship reopened in 2023 after a major renovation, with a café inside, so breakfast at Tiffany’s is now actually possible.
